In less than two weeks we will take another step toward our community in hopes of leading more to Christ!
But allow me just a moment to reflect…
Approximately 18 months ago an army of pioneers and risk-takers stepped-up-and-out on faith to launch a new Vista Churches site in Worthington. I can attest that that army has laid it on the line. They have loved, served, given and sacrificed to follow Jesus and to reach their friends. And God has smiled upon us. It has grown slowly, but surely to the 200 threshold for the first time (on a regular Sunday) just this week!
Those attending the Dublin site have been no less sacrificial and giving. It is not only hard to part with friendships for the sake of the Kingdom, but the leadership and volunteer vacancies left behind fell upon them as well. Yet, with the same joyful fervor as the pioneers, they shouldered the resultant load. Their faithfulness has been rewarded as well – the attendance at Dublin is greater than it was before the new site launch!
The next step I referred to at the top may seem like a simple one, but it will be challenging, as all changes are: We are altering our start times at both Worthington and Dublin, to 9:45 a.m. & 10:45 a.m., respectively.
The purpose is simple: the Worthington leadership has determined that although they are willing to endure the challenges and sacrifices of a 9:15 a.m. start-time (which requires a 7:15 a.m. show-time for many servants) is largely unattractive to friend and guests whom they are trying to reach.
In order to reach more for Jesus’ sake, we are making this adjustment. It affects everybody, and I appreciate your understanding and support as we make the shifts and adjustments.
Will you make it to church on time Sun., May 5? Help us spread the word! Do you think this shift will help you in your invitation efforts? We appreciate your thoughts, as always!
Warmly,
~mike
